Important Notice
Deemona is an automated RSS news aggregator. We do not create, write, edit, or publish original news content. All articles are sourced from third-party publishers and remain their exclusive intellectual property. Deemona makes no editorial judgements about the accuracy, fairness, or truthfulness of third-party content.
1. What Deemona Is
Deemona is a technology platform that automatically aggregates publicly available news headlines, summaries, and links from RSS (Really Simple Syndication) feeds published by third-party news organisations. Deemona functions as a search and discovery tool, similar to Google News, Apple News, Flipboard, and Feedly.
Deemona does not employ journalists, editors, reporters, or fact-checkers who produce original content. The platform's role is solely to collect, organise, and present links to content that has already been published by independent news organisations.
No human editorial decision is made about which individual articles to include or exclude within an active source. Articles appear automatically based on the RSS feeds published by each source.
2. Source Selection Criteria
Deemona selects news sources, not individual articles. Sources are evaluated based on the following criteria:
- The source must operate an active, publicly accessible RSS feed
- The source must be a recognised news publication, broadcaster, or wire agency
- The source is assessed against publicly available media bias and factual accuracy ratings from third-party evaluators (e.g. Media Bias/Fact Check, AllSides)
- Sources rated as having "Very Low" factual accuracy by established third-party evaluators are generally excluded
- Geographic and linguistic diversity is considered to provide balanced global coverage
Source selection is a platform-level operational decision, not an endorsement of any source's content, editorial positions, or political viewpoints. The inclusion of a source does not imply that Deemona agrees with or validates anything published by that source.
3. AI Bias Scoring — Methodology and Limitations
Deemona applies automated AI-generated political bias scores to articles and sources. These scores are:
- Generated entirely by machine learning models without human review of individual articles
- Based on source-level bias ratings combined with automated language analysis
- Presented on a scale from -5 (far left) to +5 (far right) for informational purposes only
- Not a representation of Deemona's own political views or editorial stance
- Subject to algorithmic error, misclassification, and model limitations
Disclaimer
AI bias scores are experimental, imperfect, and should not be relied upon as definitive assessments of any publication's editorial stance. Deemona accepts no liability for decisions made based on these scores. Publishers who believe their source has been incorrectly scored may contact editorial@deemona.com for review.
4. No Editorial Responsibility for Third-Party Content
Deemona expressly disclaims all editorial responsibility for content published by third-party sources. Specifically:
- Deemona does not verify, fact-check, or validate individual articles from third-party sources
- Deemona is not responsible for inaccurate, misleading, defamatory, hateful, or false content published by third parties
- The appearance of an article on Deemona does not constitute endorsement, verification, or approval of its content
- Readers are strongly advised to read articles at their original source and apply their own critical judgement
- Deemona is not a publisher of news content under applicable press law and regulation
5. Fact-Checking Labels
Where Deemona displays fact-check labels (e.g. "Disputed", "Unverified", "Contains False Claims"), these are generated automatically by AI models and are:
- Not the result of human editorial review
- Not verified by accredited fact-checking organisations
- Provided as an informational signal only, not as a definitive determination of truth or falsity
- Subject to algorithmic error
Deemona accepts no liability arising from fact-check labels applied to articles. Publishers who believe a label has been incorrectly applied may contact editorial@deemona.com.

Deemona welcomes corrections, complaints, and takedown requests from publishers, journalists, and members of the public.

7. Transparency Commitment
Deemona is committed to operational transparency. Our Transparency Dashboard (available at /transparency) publishes: the full list of active sources, source-level bias ratings, aggregation statistics, and editorial intervention logs. We believe transparency is fundamental to trustworthy news aggregation.
